DESCRIPTION:Wilderness First Responder (WFR)\n\nOffered in a hybrid format\
 , this 80+ hour course is intended for outdoor professionals\, those who w
 ork in high-risk outdoor environments (e.g. wildland fire\, trail crews\, 
 mountain bikers)\, and those who engage in multi-day extended trips in rem
 ote areas\, under challenging weather conditions\, with limited equipment\
 , unreliable communication\, and/or little to no access to emergency care.
  Includes CPR\, AED and epinephrine injection certifications. Participants
  complete asynchronous learning modules online (30+ hours)\, then particip
 ate in the 50+ hour in-person sessions that take place over two weekends o
 n the WNMU Campus in Silver City\, NM (Feb. 13-15 and Feb. 21-22\, 2026 (8
  a.m. – 5 p.m.). Participants must complete both sessions to certify. Ad
 ditional details will be provided upon registration.\n\n\n\nCost: $850 pu
 blic\, $800 public service provider or member of the Western Institute for
  Lifelong Learning\, $725 WNMU faculty/staff\; $350 full-time WNMU student
